More About Us
The Immigrant Mission Field Network was founded and incorporated in 2021 in order to encourage congregations of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod to engage as many immigrant mission fields as possible for the sake of faith, love, and hope in the communion of the church. Doing so utilizes the heritage of a synod that was itself born of immigration and has the current capacity to work in all contemporary immigrant mission fields. In 2024 we became a Recognized Service Organization of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod. In July 2025 Dr. Buse’s role as Executive Director was recognized as a divine call. Our goals are to provide resources rich in Lutheran mission theology through events and conferences, writing and podcasts, and research on the social capital networks of that intersect the mission fields of LCMS congregations so that those congregations can begin, increase, and refine their strategy amongst diaspora immigrant communities while drawing upon the institutions of the synod.
